Your Cube is built to last a lifetime — with the right care, it will. Here you'll find everything you need to know for wood and ceramic Cubes.
Regular cleaning
A damp cloth with mild soap is all you need. No scouring powder, no harsh cleaners — that way the glaze stays glossy for good.
Clean the grout
Soft brush and a pH-neutral cleaner. Wipe dry after cleaning so no residue remains in the grout.
Remove stains
Dab immediately — don't rub. For stubborn discolouration, a vinegar-and-water mix at a ratio of 1:3 helps; leave it on briefly.
Seal the grout
Treat the grout with a grout care spray once a year. This protects against discolouration and makes everyday cleaning much easier.
Scratch protection
Don't drag metal objects directly across the surface. The glazed ceramic is robust, but sharp edges can leave marks.
Clean only slightly damp
Never wipe wet or soak — wood and water don't get along in the long run. A slightly damp cloth is enough for everyday care.
No oiling needed
The wood tiles are glazed and protected with a special surface sealant. No oiling or waxing is needed — the sealant preserves colour and surface.
Treat scratches
Please don't sand scratches yourself, so the sealant stays intact. Email us a photo — we touch up scratches on request.
Avoid heat and moisture
No hot cups or glasses directly on the tiles — always use coasters. Don't place plant pots without saucers.
Long-term care
Keep dry and avoid long-term direct sunlight (the glaze can fade). Wood is not suitable for outdoor use.
Frequently asked questions
Can I put my Cube outside?
Ceramic Cubes are more weather-resistant, but not designed for permanent outdoor use — the mineral grout can crack in frost. Wood Cubes belong strictly indoors in the dry. Occasional short-term summer use on a terrace is possible.
Is ceramic easier to care for than wood?
Somewhat. Ceramic tiles are not sensitive to moisture and more scratch-resistant. Thanks to their sealant, wood tiles are easy to care for too and need no oil, but should be protected from standing moisture. In return, they offer a warmer feel.
What do I do if a tile breaks?
Individual tiles can be replaced. Email us your model and colour — in most cases we have spare tiles or can reorder them. That's one of the advantages over compact furniture.
Which cleaning product should I use?
For both materials: mild and pH-neutral. Household cleaners without abrasives or chlorine are ideal. When in doubt, warm water is enough.
