Wood tiles are the unique signature of COLB. Self-made squares of hand-glazed pine, set with mineral grout on a wooden base. Warmth over coolness. Grain over smoothness. Every piece of tiled furniture a one-of-a-kind from Berlin-Friedrichshain.
Material
Wood tiles are 10×10 cm or 15×15 cm hand-cut squares of hand-glazed pine. They are laid like classic tiles with mineral grout on a sturdy wooden base. The glaze comes in 5 colours: Soft Pink, Soft Blue, Eclectic Blue, Eclectic Green and Hot Pink – the natural grain of the wood remains visible.
Unlike a continuous wood panel or wooden flooring, the tiles create a clear grid with character. Not an anonymous wood look, but a deliberate statement: each tile individual, each grain different. The technique was developed in the COLB workshop in Berlin-Friedrichshain and perfected in-house.

Unlike ceramic or stone, each tile shows the natural wood grain. Warm, lively, different in every piece. The glaze highlights the grain rather than covering it.

Wood tiles are 10×10 cm or 15×15 cm hand-cut squares of hand-glazed pine. They are laid like classic tiles with mineral grout on a wooden base and show the natural grain of the wood.
Wood tiles feel warmer, livelier and show each grain; ceramic tiles are more precise, cooler and available in 16 colours. Wood tiles are the unique selling point of COLB; ceramic tiles offer maximum colour variety.
Wood tile tables are cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Standing moisture should be avoided. The surface is sealed, so no oiling is needed.
The tiles are glazed and resistant to brief water contact. They are not outdoor furniture and should be protected from standing moisture – like all wooden furniture.
Wood tile tables come in all four sizes: Cube 30 (30×30×30 cm), Cube 40 (30×40×30 cm), Cube 45 (30×45×30 cm) and Cube 60 (30×60×30 cm). A few finished one-offs are available immediately; every other combination you design in the configurator.
