Ist der Cube hitzebeständig?

Heiße Pfannen oder Töpfe direkt auf die Holzfliese können Spuren in der Lasur hinterlassen – verwende Untersetzer. Warme Tassen sind unproblematisch.

About this piece

Wood. Pigment. Mineral Grout.

The tiles of the Cube 40 are not bought ceramic slabs – they are self-made from pine wood, lacquered and hand-laid. The red of the tiles is alive: warm, rich, never the same twice. The light blue mineral grout sets a clear contrast that structures the eye without shouting. Two colours rarely seen together – and ones that work anyway.

The Cube 40 is slightly taller than wide: 31.5 cm footprint, 42 cm height. This makes it the ideal side table beside a sofa or armchair, but also usable as a stool. The form is simple, the materiality complex – rough and smooth at the same time, craftsman-precise and intentionally imperfect.

Each Cube is made in Berlin-Friedrichshain by Laura Korthaus, entirely by hand. The grout course and wood grain vary from piece to piece. This is not a flaw – it is proof that a person made this.
